Susan Hennessey
Susan is the President, Managing Partner of SHM Resources, LLC, a boutique executive search firm that specializes that specializes in retail, commercial and multi-family real estate development and redevelopment. This specialty includes large community shopping centers, mixed-use /upscale lifestyle centers, multi-family development, hospitality and retail assets. SHM Resources proudly serves large publicly traded companies and privately held retailers, developers and owners. For over 12 years, Susan was the Managing Partner of SearchPath International – Real Estate Division. She and her team have conducted searches for many large REITs as well as small privately held companies. Recruitment assignments have included those for : ‘“C” Suite Positions, VPs, Directors, General Managers and Property Managers and for corporate departments including: Accounting, Finance, Construction, Development, Leasing and Lease Administration, Legal, Operations, Property Management, Asset Management, Acquisitions, Transactions, Marketing and Sustainability. Previously, Susan served as Vice President of Human Resources for DDR (Developers Diversified Realty Corp – currently - SITE CENTERS), a publicly traded, fully integrated real estate development trust. As an Officer of the company and a member of the Executive and Compensation Committees, Susan played an integral, leadership role in recruiting the high level executive team during the organization’s organic growth, after the IPO. Susan also served as Regional Director of Human Resources for McDonald’s Corporation headquartered in Oakbrook, IL. She also spent over two years with Deloitte & Touche in a human resources and talent acquisition capacity.
With over 20 years of demonstrated and recognized experience in executive human resources management and talent acquisition, Susan has successfully managed the talent acquisition of many senior level and mid-management positions using a client-centric business model. This model was enhanced using the experience she received sitting on the “other side of the hiring desk”, as a recognized meticulous hiring manager and the Vice President of Human Resources. The methods and the corporate values she has developed in her successful business plan include managing searches individually from RFP to on-boarding. Susan firmly commits that the practice will not transfer a newly obtained search to junior staff or forward resumes of candidates to clients that are not thoroughly vetted or job appropriate. The firm communicates to clients in a fashion that respects everyone’s time. Many of Susan’s outstanding candidates are passive candidates that did not know they were looking for a new position. The SHM Resources model includes strategically reaching out to people that are seemingly content in similar positions and purposefully marketing new opportunities, companies and cultures to the point of interest. Susan is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. She is a certified facilitator and instructor in the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People – Steven Covey Institute and is a keynote speaker and instructor on topics of Diversity Development, Managing the Changing Workforce, Woman’s Career Development and Effective Employee Selection Practices. She is a member of ICSC, SHRM and COSE.

Mary Kay Stafford – Senior Industry Specialist
Mary Kay has vast experience in the shopping center industry supported by an expansive list of friends, colleagues, associates and contacts to help match the needs of both companies and candidates looking for the “right fit”.
Mary Kay began her real estate career with an international brokerage firm as a Property Manager and Leasing Agent. After several years in the brokerage business she became the Director of Leasing and Marketing for a prominent commercial real estate company’s Florida portfolio, leading her team of nine leasing agents to top honors in corporate leasing production. She has since headed up the Real Estate and Construction departments for three national retailers, been part of a startup team developing mixed use projects and has been responsible for the effective leasing of well over 1,000,000 square feet of commercial space.
Over the past 25 years, she has developed a reputation in this industry of having a strong work ethic, high integrity, honesty above all, and the ability to produce results.
